To enable Data Over Cable Services Interface Speciﬁcation (DOCSIS) rate limiting on downstream

trafﬁc, use the cable downstream rate-limit interface conﬁguration command. Use the no form of

this command to disable DOCSIS rate-limiting on downstream trafﬁc.

cable downstream rate-limit [token-bucket | weighted-discard][exp-weight]

cable downstream rate-limit, which enforces strict DOCSIS-complaint rate limiting.

When you enter this command without an option, it enables strict DOCSIS-compliant rate limiting,

which sets the burst rate to the interface speed.

Example

The following example applies the token bucket ﬁlter algorithm:

Router(config-if)# cable downstream rate-limit token-bucket
