CALLING FOR PROPOSALS FOR ERATE YEAR 13

STATEMENT OF WORK

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rosemead School District (RSD) of Los Angeles County,

California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the District, will receive up

to, but not later than 12:00 o’clock p.m. on the 18th day of January, 2010, proposals for the award of a

contract for the following Basic Maintenance of Internal Connections and Telecommunications/Internet

Access projects (470 #230620000800079):

ERATE 13 Basic Maintenance of Internal Connections Projects

1. Basic Maintenance of Internal Connections Agreement –

a. For eligible Cisco products. Cisco Smartnet renewal. Includes basic technical support and

configuration changes, wire and cable maintenance, upkeep of eligible hardware, network

emergencies and weekly support. See attached equipment list.

b. For eligible Safari Montage equipment. See attached equipment list.

ERATE 12 Telecommunications/ Internet Access Projects

1. Internet Access -

a. Email Account maintenance contracts - including updates and support- 500 seats. Currently

using First Class Email system by Open Text + end user documentation.

2. Telecommunications Services- (month to month service)

a. Cell Phones/Walkie-Talkies- District wide =100 cell phones/walkie talkies

The Board reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, and to accept or reject any items thereon. No

vendor may withdraw his proposal for a period of NINETY (90) days after the date set for the opening of

proposals. Proposals are subject to acceptance at any time within 90 days after opening of same, unless

otherwise stipulated. Award of contract is contingent upon receipt of E-rate Year 12 funding, board approval

and other conditions as agreed upon in the final contract as negotiated with the successful vendor.

The District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive any discrepancy or technicality, to split

the awards in any manner deemed most advantageous to the District and to award the contract for goods or

services to other than the lowest vendor. The award of contracts, if made by the District, will be to the

qualified contractor(s) or supplier(s) whose proposal best complies with all the requirements set forth in the

proposal documents, and according to the Tech/Facilities committee evaluation rubric and whose proposal,

in the opinion of the District, is in the best interest of the District, taking into consideration all aspects of the

contractor’s or supplier’s response, with the total net cost to the District being weighted the highest among

the criteria.

Each proposal shall be accompanied by an ERATE SPIN number.

Hardware vendors must be CMAS or other Master contract authorized and all vendors must be Meagan’s

law compliant. The successful vendor must maintain licensing throughout the duration of this contract and

must have a valid SPIN number. This project is to be funded via E-rate/Bond/General Fund and various

other monies and is subject to the receipt of that funding.

Minority Businesses are invited and encouraged to participate under this solicitation.
